Peter Lion had been inclined towards writing from a very early age. Throughout his growing up years in Connecticut he was seen dabbling in poetry and also wrote a number of short stories. His talent within this field was further perfected when after joining the Notre Dame High School in Connecticut he started contributing to the students school newspaper.
He got down to make a career of his passion with the words first by acquiring a degree in Journalism through the Southern Connecticut State University. He published his first magazine article in the Hartford Magazine before he graduated with his journalism degree.
He ventured to the television business even before he’d finished his college. A few months before graduation, Peter Lion took up employment with WTNH-TV as a part time graphics operator. This television channel was an associate with the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Peter Lion though, had no experience in this industry snapped up this chance to get an entry and to create a foothold in the news and tv industry.
He learned the ropes rapidly, comprehending the technicalities in the workings of a television network and remained a part of the channel for more than a time period of two years.
He then moved to Boston and started working together with WSBK as a Technical Director. He labored on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. Nevertheless, his desire to be in television with the exceptional passion for writing pulled him back to his home state as part of a little television station start-up.
He joined this team to be a director as well as a technical director with the 10 PM news cast, that was to be the first within the state. Peter Lion relocated to Pittsburg and joined KADA TV after completing a couple of years in this start up. He then moved back to Connecticut and became a part of ESPN sports network. Still a part of ESPN, he’s responsible for a variety of their shows such as Sports Centre and the NFL Draft in his position in the organization as a Director. His primary show however, remains, College Gameday.
He has been a two time winner of the Emmy awards, although he has been nominated many times for his contribution while in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work with Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.
Apart from working, Peter Lion is presently working on his second book. He’s additionally a part of a band that goes by the name of Cheaper than Therapy” and is also its lead singer and guitarist
